Community Led Empowerment Program – Ngoliba Ward Comrehensive CBO Pilot

 

  • Education – Community will identify, assess and raise funds for all matters pertaining education in the whole ward including school feeding, primary education fees and uniform, secondary education fees and uniform and tertiary tuition
  • Health & Hygiene – Community will identify, assess and raise funds for all matters pertaining Health in the whole ward including addressing women mental and physical health.
  • Child Rights & Protection – Community will identify, assess and raise funds for all matters child protection, rescue children to safer houses and champion for child rights in the grass root levels and addressing mental and physical health of the community and children.
  • Economic Empowerment – Community will identify, assess and raise funds for all matters Agriculture, business, infrastructure, in the whole ward.
  • Psychosocial Support – Community will identify, assess and raise funds for all matters psychosocial support in the whole ward including formation of women therapy centres, women mental awareness and gender based violence fight in the community.
  • Social Welfare – Community will identify, assess and raise funds for all matters pertaining community social issues in the whole ward including community integration, social belonging
  • Drugs & Substance Abuse Champion – Community will identify, assess and raise funds for all matters drugs and its effects in the community, organizing awareness campaigns, talks and rehabilitation of addicts.
  • Youth & Sports – Community will identify ,assess and raise funds towards youth improvement, organize sports events, nurture  talents and promote positive youthful engagement.
  • Pwd – Community will identify ,assess and raise funds towards having an inclusive society leaving no one behind, champion for inclusion of PWDS in every community engagement, end discrimination and stigma on PWDS
  • Positive Parenting Champion – Entails awareness on positive parenting and parents mental and physical health.
    • Denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are beguiled and demoralized by the charms pleasure moment so blinded desire that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble.

    Breaking the Silence: Women’s Mental Health Awareness
    In our quest to address food security in our community we put much effort in empowering as many households as possible through training and demonstration. When the community is trained on small scale farming expect a future with food security in mind. The weather is very unpredictable which poses a challenge to many small scale farmers. We sensitize our beneficiaries with kitchen gardening, pest & disease control and water conservation skills. There is also a scheduled follow up to ensure implementation is well achieved. Many beneficiaries we work with are mostly small scale farmers and benefit from our training immensely.

    We had the honor of hosting 47 graduates at Kusitawi village for a celebration of their successful academic and skills acquisition tenure in their various institutions of learning. We had three recent graduates namely Josephat Mwendo degree in computer science from Muranga University, Agnes Mbula degree in natural resources management from Egerton University and Priscilla njoki degree in electrical engineering from technical university of Kenya. Diploma level we had one graduate Rose Wayua who recently graduated with a diploma in general agriculture from Nyandarua institute of science and Technology. We also recognized and awarded students who have done grade tests in our internal vocational courses. Fashion and design class, we had 14, hair and beauty class we had 11 and in food production class we had 17. It is these achievements that make a difference in our children lives and community. We wish them all the best in their careers and future endeavors.
